Dumplings with cherries


Ingredients:

For the dough:

Wheat flour - 3 cups

cold water - 2/3 cup

egg - 3 pieces.

salt - to taste


For filling:

fresh or frozen cherries (with pits) - 1 kg

Sugar - 1 cup

Wash cherries, remove the stones (but do not throw them), sprinkle with sugar and leave for 3-4 hours to extract the juice. Knead the dough to medium thickness, mixing all the ingredients. Drain the cherries of the juice. They are ready for filling. Roll out the dough in a layer of 1.5-2 mm thick, cut into squares of 5x5 cm. Each square lightly grease with beaten egg, put the cherries (a little bit, otherwise the dough would break), dumpling ready to lay down triangle and fix the edges. The edges need not be thick, because it significantly impairs the taste. Lower the dumplings in plenty of boiling salted water. Ready-made dumplings float. Remove them with a slotted spoon and pour the warmed butter.
